Kolektif 509 was created to celebrate and promote the unique creative talent of Contemporary Artists residing in Haiti and abroad by organising collective and individual art exhibits both locally and internationally. Its mission is to give support to emerging and established Contemporary artists by creating opportunities to make their artwork visible to art lovers around the world. Kolektif 509 represents artists who work on all types of mediums including: paintings, photography, video installations, video performances, digital art, drawings, & sculptures. To date, Kolektif 509 has organised over two dozen exhibits, and has exposed the artwork of over 70 emerging and established contemporary artists. Kolektif 509 hopes to revolutionise the way people view Haitian art both locally and internationally, at the same time provide a service to emerging and establishing artists in Haiti by creating a platform that helps them get their artwork to an international audience. We believe that a country that invests in the arts, is a country heading towards positive growth, which is why we seek to partner up with other organisations that resonate with our mission.
